David Luboya-Mushila
I'm a product leader and founder. I lead product and AI at MakeReady Central, a US property-technology business, where I built and run the platform the company operates on. And I founded TeknaLabs, where we help people and organizations across South Africa build real AI and digital readiness.
At 20, still studying, I joined the data team at a US market research firm serving Fortune 500 clients, building machine learning models. That taught me something I've carried since: AI doesn't create insight from nothing — it amplifies what you already understand.
Most of my mornings now go to building the products and systems MakeReady Central runs on. My path there ran through data science, software, and product, and it all converged on one thing: building enterprise software with AI, and helping the people around it use that technology with confidence.
That last part matters to me more than the software. I've seen in my own life what digital skills and a little agency make possible, and I want the same for others — which is why I founded TeknaLabs, where we build AI and digital readiness across South Africa. The work led to One Young World and a TIBA Top 10 Tech Professionals nomination in 2024.
